Indian Fintech JobhiBik made by Indians, for Indians, hardly used by Indians, blames Indians for its data breach. Lol.
Hardly a coincidence that the breach coincides with the announced last date of AADHAR and PAN linkage, March 31, 2021.
Instead of starting in the usual fashion of a news breakout, we would first stand in attention for 52 seconds to read the public statement shared by the CEO of JobhiBik, a startup that builds anything that would sell anything at all.
Go figure, and search for it on Twitter.
Cool. Now that we are here.
In a first of its kinds counter-attack, the CEO of JobhiBik lashed out at the app's customers for not being sensible with their data and making an account on JobhiBik, hence ending up on the dark web. He even reprimanded customers for going on the dark web. He was rather upset with this undisciplined, unruly behavior.
He said he will write to those customers' parents and ask them to ground the customers and take away their phones for 48 hours, till the team of 300 Indians figures out, who is selling worthless data on the dark web.
He said since the data is all Indian and most probably there are Indians only selling it, the company is as a result adding to the per capita income of India and hence has every right to be forgiven for the breach. In fact, he even went and said that all of its customers (approximately 250 in number) are like his family, and family runs on trust, not some security protocol.
We did not try to reach the CEO for a comment on this, because we have read his statement on Twitter and the expectations from him is so bad right now, that this piece would be more credible without his statement.
You can reply to me with your statement though. Or join me on Twitter, LinkedIn. Or share it on Slack, WhatsApp, Postcards, or better - the dark web. ;)
Adios.
